Check the float level. Mine was the opposite of yours. It was way too high therefore rich.
Fuel pressure ok?
Flow?
Is unleaded gas disolving 40 years of deposits and clogging the fuel filter?

Mind that if yours has the Ball & Ball carb like mine, it will never run perfectly!
