: My restored 1947 WDX clutch is starting to slip. Have complete engine overhaul, resurfaced flywheel, new clutch plate, new presssure plate and throw out bearing.Clutch pedal is properly adjusted. Slips in all gears. Have to baby it to get it up to speed. Any thoughts out there about this problem? Where do I start to look and what do I do first, second, third, etc.
: Thanks. George Farrier.

I'd recheck for oil leaks in the rear seal first
If no leaks I'd look for binding in the clutch
actuating lever then I'd go to the pressure plate.
Assuming that all parts are correct and that
the resurfacing job was done right then the only
factor preventing the adequate transfer of power
would be the pressure placed on the plate.

It also may be that the clutch lining needs to be
run in to assure good traction.

Do you have the stock engine or has it been replaced
with a higher power model?
