I don't have an answer for you but I posted a similar question
over on Gordon's forum, see link. Generated a little discussion but I'm
still not sure what year I have. If I was just going by the books I
would say it's a 55, however, previous owners said it's a 56.
My truck is a C-3-PW with 2nd series bed, non-synchro trans, and 6 volt electrical.
